FOUCAULT Y LAS CIENCIAS HUMANAS: UNA REFLEXIÓN SOBRE LA MODERNIDAD Y LA NOCIÓN DE HOMBRE / Foucault and the Human Sciences: A reflection about modernity and the notion of human being

Abstract

Se analiza la concepción que sostiene Foucault sobre el origen y la forma metodológica de proceder de las ciencias humanas. Dicha concepción supone que surgió de una necesidad histórica consistente en categorizar al hombre desde parámetros de orden discursivo. Este análisis sirve para reflexionar si la forma de operar de las ciencias sociales radica o no en una redistribución epistemológica de dicha índole. Se considera para ello la crisis epistemológica que atraviesan las ciencias sociales a partir de la proliferación de sus paradigmas teóricos y se destaca el valor crítico que subyace en la arqueología del saber.

This article analyzes Foucault’s conception about the origin and methodological way to pursue human sciences. This perspective assumes that human sciences had enlarged from a historical necessity that was consistent with the idea of categorizing human being from discursive parameters. This analysis serves to reflect whether the modus operandi of social sciences lies in an epistemological redistribution of such kind. In this regard, it is considered the epistemological crisis spanning the social sciences into the proliferation of theoretical paradigms as well as it is emphasized the critical value underlying the archeology of knowledge.
