CONSEJERÍA FAMILIAR: DE LA TEORÍA A LA APLICACIÓN PRÁCTICA EN LA ATENCIÓN PRIMARIA / Familiar counseling: from theory to practical application in primary care

Abstract
El artículo presenta una revisión del concepto de consejería y de sus ámbitos de aplicación. Además, se describe un modelo de consejería familiar denominado Abordaje Familiar Breve, creado y desarrollado en nuestro país, especialmente para ser aplicado en los Centros de Salud Familiar para la atención de pacientes. Finalmente, se describe una aplicación de la consejería familiar con este nuevo modelo en un paciente con trastorno somatomorfo.
The article presents a review of the concept of ‘counseling’ and its scopes of application. In addition, a model of family counseling denominated ‘Brief Familiar Intervention’ is described. This family intervention was created and developed in Chile, especially to be applied in the Centers of Family Health for the attention of patients. Finally, an application of family counseling using this new model in a patient with somatoform disorder is described.
