Abstract

Abstract: In Chile, around 59,000 children live with an incarcerated parent. Using the notion of performativity, I analyze how the subject "children with incarcerated relatives" is performated by public policy, particularly from the analysis of seven protocols that regulate the actions of GendarmeriÌa de Chile in terms of human rights. In this regard, I observe that boys and girls appear mainly in relation to their entry into the penal center as "visitors, children, men"; as "bodies that are registered" and implicitly as third parties, in the protocol for the use of force.
