LOS IMAGINARIOS SOCIALES Y LA DEMOCRACIA EN LA INTERVENCIÓN SOCIAL / Social imaginary and democracy in the social intervention

Abstract
Este artículo reflexiona sobre la aplicación de la noción de imaginarios sociales en la comprensión de la democracia y de la ciudadanía en la esfera de la intervención social. Al respecto, exponemos la idea de la ciudadanía como un mito fundante del imaginario de la democracia, que a partir de íconos memorables como la Revolución Francesa construyeron un relato que pervive hasta la actualidad. Aun cuando el ideario original de la ciudadanía ha sido teorizado e infiltrado desde el liberalismo, los eventos democratizadores de los últimos años dan cuenta de la manifiesta movilidad del mito ciudadano.
This article is a reflection about the use of the idea of social imaginaries in understanding democracy and citizenship in the social intervention field. In this regard, the article shows the idea of citizenship as a founding myth of imaginaries of democracy that started with icons such as the French Revolution that built a story that continues today. Although the original ideology of citizenship has been theorized and infiltrated from liberalism, the democratizing events from the last years show us the idea of the evident movement of citizenship myth.
