Abstract

A partir de una investigación antropológica histórica, con una fuerte base etnográfica, efectuada por el autor en comunidades costeras de la región de Antofagasta, antigua Atacama, se exponen algunas ideas del antropólogo Clifford Geertz que proveen orientaciones teórico – metodológicas, especialmente útiles en el trabajo de campo, y que se aplicaron con provecho en dicha investigación. En el presente trabajo se intenta vincularlas a algunos puntos del programa socio-fenomenológico, expuesto por el epistemólogo Ulises Toledo. Siguiendo ese esquema se presentan los lineamientos de una nueva investigación que el autor realizará en la Zona Central de Chile, en temáticas de antropología política, para lo cual propone algunas estrategias de abordaje que considera pertinentes para este tipo de investigación socio-cultural.

Based on a historical-anthropological research, with a profound ethnographic base that was developed by the author in coastal communities of Antofagasta region, formerly known as Atacama. This article exposes some ideas of the anthropologist Clifford Geertz; those ideas provide a theoretical- methodological orientation that was successfully used in the investigation. This paper seeks linking the ideas of Clifford Geertz with some points of a socio phenomenological program exposed by the epistemologist Ulises Toledo. According to that scheme there are lineaments for a new investigation that will be developed by the author in the Central region of Chile and it will be about the subject of political anthropology for which there are approach strategies for this kind of socio cultural investigation.
