Narratives of university students. Rights and opportunities in contexts of gender INequality
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article presents the result of an investigation carried out with university students, whose purpose was to identify and recognize the perceptions of young women about their rights and opportunities in the university environment in equal conditions of equity than their peers. We sought to visualize possible gaps, barriers and inequities perceived by university students, through a qualitative design, from a comprehensive phenomenological perspective. As critical knots of the experiences narrated by the students, five dimensions are underlined: naturalized situations of inequality and lack of equity manifested in the treatment, language, demands and stereotypes; invisibility of the student's contextual singularity, mainly associated with civil status, and maternity; scientific and disciplinary discrimination; systemic machismo and appreciations to the normative document of sexual violence protocol.
